What's fun for kids at the Reno Rodeo
With the majority of area schools out for the summer, both parents and children are looking for summer entertainment. With the start of the Reno Rodeo on June 16, there will be plenty of events to keep both parents and children happy. Here are some of the highlights:
Reno Rodeo carnival: Davis Shows Northwest
Filled with classic carnival rides and crowd pleasing games, the carnival is a great destination for families during the Reno Rodeo. The carnival will be holding multiple discount nights throughout the run of the Rodeo. Information regarding discount nights can be found on the Reno Rodeo website at renorodeo.com. The carnival will run June 15-25 from 4 p.m. to midnight on weekdays and noon to midnight on the weekend.
Reno Rodeo Kids' Day
Kids' Day is the perfect time for the family to head down to the Reno Livestock Events Center and enjoy the last day of the Reno Rodeo. In addition to the Mutton Bustin' Championship, multiple vendors will be on hand at the indoor arena from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 25. For a full list of vendors, visit the Reno Rodeo website.
Reno Rodeo parade
The 2016 Reno Rodeo Parade runs from 10-11 a.m. June 18. This year's route will take the parade down Virginia Street starting at Arroyo Street and ending at California Avenue. With decorated floats, cowboys on horseback and the chance of parade candy, the Reno Rodeo Parade is a great way for families to begin the Saturday festivities.
Mutton Bustin' is a great event for families to attend during the Reno Rodeo. The event features children between the ages of 5 and 7 who ride sheep across the arena. The event runs daily during the Reno Rodeo, giving families plenty of time to enjoy the action!
