Whitney Peak Hotel will host a social media scavenger hunt for the public and hotel guests on July 9 as part of the hotel’s second anniversary celebration. Whitney Peak Hotel is a pet-friendly property.

“As we turn 2, we wanted to invite the public into our hotel to see areas that are brand-new, or that they had not yet discovered,” said Niki Gross, managing director. “Russ, who is our unofficial mascot, is a fixture at the hotel and well-known by our guests and staff. We thought involving him in a fun, interactive activity for the public and our guests would add a unique twist to the traditional open house/anniversary party.”

The scavenger hunt will kick off in the main lobby of Whitney Peak Hotel at 10 a.m., where participants will receive a scavenger hunt guide, featuring a series of photo images taken in public spaces around the hotel. Russ appears in each image with a hashtag of #WHERESRUSS. Russ is a long-haired dachshund mix owned by Gross and her husband, Eli.

To be eligible to win a prize, participants will search the hotel’s public spaces to find all the images, snap a photo and then post the photo to their Twitter, Facebook and/or Instagram accounts with the hashtag #WPHTURNS2.

The first person to post all of the correct images will win a one-night stay at Whitney Peak with dinner for two at Roundabout Grill and two BaseCamp passes. All other participants will be entered into a drawing for Roundabout meal vouchers, Cargo Concert Hall concert tickets and BaseCamp tickets.

In addition to the scavenger hunt, Whitney Peak staff will conduct tours of the hotel, including its new third floor banquet and event space, which recently opened. Light refreshments will be offered in the lobby.
