April Wine Walk Keeps Truckee Meadows Blue
Help keep Truckee Meadows Blue during the Reno Wine Walk Saturday, April 16 from 2 to 5 p.m., a perfect occasion to show your appreciation for community, education and wine.
For the greater good
Nevadan’s rarely need a reason to celebrate the Silver State, but this April the Riverwalk District embraces the Silver and Blue during the Reno Wine Walk. Guests are encouraged to show off their favorite University of Nevada apparel and help keep Truckee meadows Blue. Each month portions of the proceeds for the Reno Wine Walk benefit local charitable organizations. In over five years the event organizers have donated more than $84,000 to local non-profits.
Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful
On April 16 the Riverwalk District’s monthly event will be supporting Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful, a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to beautification, advocating for a clean community, cleanups and education in the Truckee Meadows for over 25 years. KTMB is an affiliate of the national organization Keep America Beautiful. Locally, they work with businesses, municipalities, community groups like the Riverwalk District and individuals to keep the Truckee River, business corridors, and neighborhoods beautiful and clean for all to enjoy.
The Wine Walk is a monthly event held on the third Saturday where you purchase a decorative wine glass for a $20 wine-tasting fee. With wine glass in hand and a valid photo ID, you’ll receive an ID bracelet, which allows you to sample wine at any of the twenty-plus participating merchant locations. Many of the businesses hand paint each individual wine glass, which attendees get to take home. At the end of the event attendees enter to win over $700 in gift cards from all the participating merchants during a 5 p.m. raffle.
