Reno's Wooster High receives NFL honor
General Manager of the Eldorado and Silver Legacy, Glenn Carano, will present Wooster High School with a Golden Football from the NFL and officially welcome them to the Super Bowl High School Honor Roll community. This program celebrates schools that have contributed to Super Bowl history and is being sent to the high school of every player or head coach who was on an active roster in a Super Bowl. Carano played Quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl XIII and was a graduate of Wooster.
Honored schools, including Wooster High School, will also receive an NFL Character Education Curriculum and are eligible to apply for grants from the NFL Foundation to help support and grow their high school football programs. Nearly 3,000 players and head coaches, and more than 2,000 high schools, will be recognized this season.
Carano will present the Golden Football to Wooster’s principal and athletic department on Friday, Feb. 5 at approximately 6:45 p.m. in the Wooster High School Gymnasium.
