"Pie it Forward" benefits Food Bank
Peppermill Resort Spa Casino hosts “Pie it Forward,” a daylong pumpkin pie sale benefiting the Food Bank of Northern Nevada on Nov. 22. Freshly baked pumpkin pies are available to purchase for only $5 per pie from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in front of the sportsbook on the casino floor. All proceeds will be donated to the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.
The Food Bank of Northern Nevada is a regional food distribution and support system for more than 130 partner agencies serving the needy, the ill, the elderly and children of northern Nevada. The second annual Pie it Forward sale aims to raise even more money than the $4,500 raised last year in order to help support the community during the holidays.
“One in four of the children in our area don’t know where their next meal is coming from,” said Jocelyn Lantrip, director of marketing and communications for the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. “Programs like this really help us to ensure that children have the food that they need to grow, learn and thrive.”
The donations from Peppermill will drive additional funds for this continued effort of community service and outreach.
