Thomas the Tank Engine tour comes to Virginia City
Choo choo! Thomas the Tank Engine is celebrating friendship at “Day Out with Thomas: The Celebration Tour 2015,” and families are invited aboard! Little engineers are invited to join Thomas when the No. 1 Engine pulls into the Virginia & Truckee Railroad for “Day Out with Thomas: The Celebration Tour 2015,” sponsored by Hard Rock Hotels.
This fun-filled event offers little engineers and their families the opportunity to take a ride with Thomas the Tank Engine, star of the “Thomas & Friends” series. In addition, children will meet Sir Topham Hatt, controller of the railway, and enjoy a day of Thomas-themed activities including arts and crafts, storytelling and more. The tour, now in its 20th year, will make 42 stops across the U.S. and Canada and is expected to welcome nearly 1 million passengers in 2015.
The event includes an approximately 25-minute-long ride with Thomas the Tank Engine where Thomas will greet his fans. A Thomas & Friends Imagination Station will feature stamps, temporary tattoos, hands-on arts and crafts, train tables and coloring sheets. There also will be storytelling, video viewing and live music. The train runs at 10 .a.m., 11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Oct. 23, Oct. 24, Oct. 25, Oct. 30, Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. The train departs from 165 F Street Depot, Virginia City.
