Three country music concerts you can't miss in Reno
In true Silver Legacy fashion, Downtown Reno's tallest Resort Casino is welcoming four big country music concerts with margaritas in their hand.
Country music duo Montgomery Gentry will perform Saturday, Aug. 8 at 8 p.m. inside the Grande Exposition Hall. From "Hillbilly Shoes" to "Headlights," Montgomery Gentry has become one of the most identifiable duos in the history of country music. After nearly a decade and a half, Montgomery Gentry continues to draw door-busting crowds into their concerts and release albums that stay true to the Kentucky country music movement they helped define. Tickets will go on sale Saturday for $49.50 and $69.50.
Singer-songwriter Dwight Yoakam will return to Silver Legacy, Saturday, Nov. 7 at 8 p.m. inside the Grande Exposition Hall. Yoakam's deep knowledge of music history seeps into his own sonic playbook, with hints of Elvis, The Everly Brothers, The Beatles, and the Beach Boys, among other influences, coloring his songs. Yet once Yoakam "puts his hillbilly voice in it" – as he refers to that magnificent instrument – he makes it his own. Tickets will go on sale Saturday for $65 and $85.
- And in case you missed it, the most awarded country music group of the past decade, Rascal Flatts will be performing live at the Reno Events Center on Thursday, Sept. 24. Tickets for all upcoming events at the Silver Legacy and the Reno Events center can be purchased at SilverLegacy.com, Ticketmaster.com, or by calling 775-325-7401.
