11:53 a.m. - Check in to your hotel
You'll check into your hotel in Reno. We recommend one of the following for the best deals and amenities in the area:
But don't get too comfortable just yet. You'll be leaving soon for lunch in one of Reno's hip neighborhoods.
12:36 p.m. - Lunchtime
You'll be grabbing a sandwich and perhaps a cheese plate at Wedge Cheese Shop in Midtown. Thank us later. Midtown is a bit of a hipster scene, but they're cool hipsters. Friendly, welcoming ones. The area has been undergoing a huge face lift for recent years. It's quite charming, we know you'll love it.
If you're feeling like you want more of sit-down experience, check out Heritage inside the Whitney Peak Hotel. Owned by local chef Mark Estee, the restaurant embodies the farm-to-table movement with locally grown produce and meats.
1:35 p.m. - You'd Better Shop Around
You can't leave Reno empty-handed. A couple options here. You could visit the various quirky (but classy) boutique shops in Midtown. Or, if you're looking for something a little more brand-name (think Pottery Barn, Banana Republic, Apple Store, etc.), cruise down to the south part of town and visit the Summit.
If outlet stores are more your style, head northeast to Legends at the Sparks Marina. You'll find outlets for stores like Banana Republic, GAP and Nike. If you're feeling like heading indoors, check out the new Galaxy theater where you can recline back and watch the latest movie. Bonus for those who choose to imbibe: you can sip a beer or glass of wine, too.
2:47 p.m. - Spa Time.
Your belly's full. You've warmed up the credit card over lunch and shopping. Now it's time to pamper yourself. It is time for the spa.
Reno's casinos do not disappoint when it comes to the spa experience. Check out the amenities and services at some of our favorite locations:
4:12 p.m. - Power Nap
You'll need it. Reno isn't a 24-hour town for nothing.
4:57 p.m. - Wake up, head down, jump on the tables
The odds are in your favor now because of the positive mojo you've built up back at the spa. Milk it while you can. Before you do, check out our tips on beating the odds at your favorite slot machine or table.
7:00 p.m. Dinnertime
We're taking you (via cab) to Sterlings inside the Silver Legacy. Get a late reservation and rub elbows with your favorite stars who like to visit Reno. If you're a pasta fan (and who isn't?), we can personally vouch for their mushroom ravioli.
You didn't think we'd leave you with only one option for dinner, did you? For something a bit more casual, try the Cantina at the Grand Sierra Resort. They have a brand new menu with tasty margaritas for you to enjoy.
At Roxy's at the Eldorado Resort Casino, dine on delicious prawns and try one (or two or three) of their 102 martinis while you listen to the nightly piano player.
For other options, check out the following places:
We've blocked off plenty of time for you. So turn off your cell phones, breathe in the delicious smells coming from the kitchen and enjoy your dinner.
9:38 p.m. - Libations in the Biggest Little City
Reno's got a serious craft cocktail scene. We recommend you start at 1864 Tavern. While sipping a Gold Rush, you might momentarily forget you're in 2015. Instead, the blend of whiskey, honey clover, fresh lemon and angostura bitters mixed with the establishment's Victorian ambience could act as a time-machine. From the bartender's attire to the antique furniture to the period accent pieces, 1864 pays homage to Nevada's history. Soak it in and drink up.
12 a.m. - Midnight Snack
"Snack" may be a bit of an understatement. It's late. You've had a few cocktails. And suddenly you feel like you didn't eat dinner. Time Reno's signature dish, the Awful Awful (meaning - awfully big, awfully good) a half-pound greasy, beefy behemoth, grilled to order, atop a bed of seasoned fries at the Nugget (keep in mind - not the Nugget Resort Casino in Sparks - different place completely) located right in the heart of downtown. This is fuel for what's to come.
1:07 a.m. – Hit the clubs
Snatch a cab outside the Nugget. We're taking you to one of the hottest night clubs town. From live music to an indoor pool to an outdoor patio where you can sip your cocktail, Reno's hottest night clubs do not disappoint.
3:28 a.m. - Shut 'Er Down
Edge closes at 4. Don't make them kick you out. Cab it back to your hotel.
10 a.m. (ish) - Shower, Check out and Breakfast
Tough it out, boss. You got this. You're up at 10 a.m.. Check out is at 11 a.m. Throw on the in-room coffee and hop in the shower. Let the warm water seep into your pores awakening your soul.
Once you're dressed, check out and head to breakfast at your hotel's café. They've already promised you a strong cup of coffee and all the greasy food you need to soothe your troubled stomach.
Before you head back home, pat yourself on the back. You've spent a perfect 24 hours in Reno.
