'Footloose,' fancy free at the Eldorado
The four-time Tony Award nominee “Footloose” will dance its way to the Eldorado Resort Casino, Jan. 19 through April 17. This timeless tale based on the Oscar-nominated film features exciting dances, a heartwarming story and explosive rock and roll music.
“Footloose” tells the tale of Ren McCormack, a teenage boy from Chicago who moves to the small town of Bomont, where the local government has banned dancing and rock music. Ren leads his classmates around the law and Reverend Shaw Moore to have a real senior prom. See the cast cut loose to hit songs like “Almost Paradise,” “Let’s Hear it for the Boy,” Holding Out for a Hero” and the title track by Kenny Loggins, “Footloose.”
This joyful American musical entertains a multitude of generations and is directed and choreographed by the inventive and creative Paula Hammons Sloan, whose choreography delighted crowds to standing ovations over the holiday season with “Ebenezer,” also at the Eldorado. Exciting dance displays, great rock and roll hits and an encouraging story of young people standing up for artistic freedom make the musical “Footloose” fun, energetic and everlasting.
