May shows at The Knitting Factory in Reno
May promises to be a great month at The Knitting Factory, located in the hotel corridor in downtown Reno. They've got a rockin' lineup for all the music fans out there.
GRiZ, The Floozies, and Muzzy Bearr

All three bands will take the stage with their dance and pop hits. GRiZ bills himself as a DJ and producer. He hails from Michigan and plays the saxophone, which he mixes with his own blend of funk, electro-soul, and his self-described future-funk. GRiZ created All Good Records to promote himself and now also reps "old school Motown soul, future funk, new disco, cutting edge electronica, and anything on the forefront of new sound." His most recent album, Say It Loud, came out March 31, 2015. The Floozies consist of Matt Hill, who plays guitar and produces music, and Mark Hill, who plays drums. The sibling team takes their fresh approach to electronic music all over the country, performing at festivals and turning venues into the most epic dance parties ever. Muzzy Bearr describes his genre as Fresh Cookin.' According to Facebook, he's a "22 year old trying to be the next Rick Rubin and also that guy who plays guitar with GRiZ."

The Temperance Movement was formed in 2011 in London and they released their first EP in 2012, Pride. A week after the album dropped, the group appeared at Royal Albert Hall and their success has grown from there. They're currently touring the U.S. before heading to Marrakech in June. Rubles Plunge is a proud hard rock band hailing from right here in Reno! They are "hard rock—the way you like it." Rubles Plunge is four guys rocking some great music and having fun while doing it.
Grieves, Greyskul, and The Halve Two

Grieves, Greyskul, and The Halve Two are bringing their urban sound to Reno. Grieves is a rapper from Seattle who got his start in 2007. He tackles difficult subjects with his music, such as addiction and heartbreak. He is on tour now for his most recent album, Winter and the Wolves. Greyskul was created by Onry Ozzborn and JFK when they teamed up with Rob Castro. The trio released their first album in 2005. Their most recent album, Zenith, was released in 2013. The Halve Two consists of Two Halves, Junes & Libs. They are a hip-hop group concerning themselves with food, drink, relationships, music, and 9-5s. They describe themselves as indie hip-hop.
Apocalyptica and The Art of Dying

Apocalyptica and The Art of Dying will be rocking Reno. Apocalyptica are on their Shadowmaker tour all the way from Helsinki, Finland. They are a metal band that was formed in 1993; they borrow elements from a number of musical genres, including neoclassical metal, progressive metal, and symphonic metal. Last year, they signed to Eleven Seven Music and released their eighth studio album on April 17. The Art of Dying is a Canadian rock band consisting of four friends. They got their start in 2004 with singer and a guitarist. Their most recent album, Let the Fire Burn, was released in 2012.
