More growth means more jobs at Gigafactory
Battery-maker Panasonic is looking to fill more jobs at the Tesla Gigafactory east of Reno. On Thursday the company announced it is planning an invitation-only hiring event June 22.

“Panasonic Energy of North America (PENA) is gearing up for significant growth at the Gigafactory where we will produce lithium ion cells for electric vehicles and other innovative products,” Amy Martin-Charles, talent acquisition manager for Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America, said in the announcement.
Martin-Charles said the full-time jobs are in “advanced manufacturing” roles and the company “is seeking experienced manufacturing professionals for shift lead, maintenance Technician and operator positions.”

People interested in applying need to submit resumes in person at a Nevada JobConnect site. JobConnect will pre-screen the resumes and notify people who qualify for an invitation to the hiring event, said Mae Worthy, spokeswoman for the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation.
