2018 open dates for Tahoe beaches and campgrounds
Truckee Meadows Water Authority is seeking to sell a defunct power plant built in 1899. In addition to the historic structure, property includes more than 100 acres by Truckee River, a hot spring and access to bike path from Reno to Lake Tahoe.
Dust off the standup paddle board and dig out the tent.
Opening dates for beaches and campgrounds in the Lake Tahoe basin are set for the 2018 summer season.
On Monday the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit of the U.S. Forest Service posted target opening dates for campgrounds and day-use areas.
The action starts April 14 when Inspiration Point is scheduled to open. Baldwin and Nevada beaches open April 28, the Taylor Creek Visitor Center opens May 25 and Tallac Historic Site Parking opens May 15 with staffing beginning May 26.
Dates subject to change depending on weather and snow conditions.

Camp Richardson RV Park, Luther Pass Campground and Angora Resort: May 25
Blackwood Canyon and Watson Lake Campgrounds: June 1

Chimney Beach and Secret Harbor: May 1
Sandpit Off-Highway Vehicle Area: May 10
