South Reno is getting into the habit — the Habit Burger Grill.
Habit Burger, the fast-casual chain founded in 1969 in Santa Barbara, Calif., is planned for phase two of a development at the corner of Neil Road and South Virginia Street, according to materials listing Thomas English Retail Real Estate as developer and NAI Alliance as broker.
A representative of NAI Alliance forwarded RGJ Media inquiries to the developer. A representative of Thomas English did not return a request for comment, including questions about the timeline for opening. The address is 6250 S. Virginia St.
Jos. A. Bank, the men's wear retailer, and Sleep Number, the mattress and bedding retailer, constitute the first phase of the development. Habit Burger will occupy adjacent land to the north of these stores. Whole Foods Market lies across the street.
The first Habit Burger in Reno opened to much anticipation on May 20, 2017, in the food court of Circus Circus.
The debut launched the food court and was part of the ongoing investment by Eldorado Resorts Inc. in Circus Circus and its other two downtown Reno properties.
Habit Burger is known for its char-broiled burgers, including a standard Charburger, a Double Charburger and a Santa Barbara Char on grilled sourdough.
The menu also features sandwiches like a Golden Chicken or Tri-Tip Steak, salads, and sides like tempura green beans and sweet potato fries.
In 2016, Nation’s Restaurant News named Habit Burger the second fastest-growing chain in the country.
