Elayne Boosler

Named earlier this year one of the top 50 Stand-Up Comics of All-Time by Rolling Stone magazine and a weekly contributor on CNN’s “The History of Comedy,” Boosler headlines at 8 p.m. July 27, at 9:30 p.m. July 28, and at 6:30 and 9:30 p.m. July 29 in the Reno Tahoe Comedy Club at the Pioneer Underground. Boosler opened the door for many female comedians when she financed in 1986 her own comedy special, “Party of One.” She’s appeared in five Showtime comedy specials, most late-night talk shows and has performed stand-up globally, including shows at the London Palladium and the White House Correspondent’s Dinner for President Clinton. She’s also an animal activist with her own foundation, Tails of Joy (www.tailsofjoy.net). The shows are part of Artown 2017. Tickets cost $20 advance and $20 day of show July 27, and $25 advance, $30 day of show July 28-29 and are available at the venue and at www.renotahoecomedy.com. Details: 775-322-5233.
