Canfest, the annual celebration of canned craft beer, runs 6 to 11 p.m. Aug. 27 in the Tuscany Ballroom of the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino, 2707 S. Virginia.

The event features more than 100 international canned beers, live music and silent disco, an ice cream bike and beer pong. Canfest benefits the Reno Bike Project, a local nonprofit that works for a cycle-friendly community.

General admission tickets: $45 in advance, $50 at door. VIP tickets: $65 in advance (includes 5 p.m. entry and buffet dinner). Purchase from the Peppermill website.

KEEP TRUCKEE MEADOWS BEAUTIFUL BENEFIT

Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful is holding its Raise the River fundraiser from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Aug. 18 in the Sensory Garden (near the train) of Idlewild Park, 1900 Idlewild Drive.

The event features food from Mark Estee Events, local beer and spirits, and sensory activities, including a sensory tent hosted by Davidson's Organics in which folks can see, smell and taste various tea varietals.

SANDS REGENCY HOSTS ‘PACIFICA FESTIVAL’

The Pacifica Festival featuring Asian and Polynesian food, music and culture runs 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 20 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 21 at the Sands Regency Hotel & Casino, 345 N. Arlington Ave.

DAYTIME FORMAL: BLEND BLACK TIE BRUNCH

Beginning 11 a.m. Aug. 28, Blend Catering is hosting its al fresco Black Tie Brunch at Tannenbaum Event Center, 20007 Mount Rose Highway. The event features pass-around bites, bloody Mary and mimosa bar, fresh doughnuts station and live music. Elegant attire encouraged.

FARM-TO-TABLE DINNERS AT OLD 1862 RANCH

Beginning 5 p.m. Sept. 3 and 10, the Old 1862 Ranch is presenting four-course dinners featuring ranch produce, three main course options, cheese from Wedge Cheese Shop and semifreddo for dessert.
