Camels, ostriches, zebras and good old-fashioned family fun return to historic Virginia City for the 57th annual International Camel & Ostrich Races Sept. 9-11. This year’s event includes an all-new family fun zone and activity center complete with a rock climbing wall.

Located for the second year in its new home at the Virginia City Arena and Fairgrounds on F Street, the event promises the favorite action-packed races, more vendors and new entertainment. The Fun Zone opens at 10 a.m. daily with racing starting at noon.

New this year is children's ticket pricing. On Sept. 9, children's tickets cost $8. Sept. 11 is Dolan Family Day and the first 100 children in line get a free camel ride.

Sept. 9

  • General Admission: $12
  • Kids (3-12) General Admission: $8
  • Premium Seating: $15
  • In-Arena Seating: $25
  • VIP Seating: $40

Sept. 10-11

  • General Admission: $15
  • Premium Seating: $18
  • In-Arena Seating: $30
  • VIP Seating: $50
