The El Niño effect has returned to the Lake Tahoe region, with Diamond Peak Ski Resort above Incline Village picking up 12-16 inches of fresh snow overnight with another 2-4 inches this morning. Conditions at Diamond Peak are perfect for those families enjoying the Ski/Skate holiday week and anyone who could take a mid-week day off.
Due to the powder day, Diamond Peak opened the Lakeview Quad early today at 8:30 a.m., allowing die-hard powderhounds early access to the fresh snow.
Diamond Peak is open top to bottom, with all lifts on the schedule through Sunday, Feb. 21. Lift Operations crews are currently working to clear the Red Fox and Ridge chairlifts; however, Crystal Express, Lakeview, Lodgepole, School House and the Child Ski Center magic carpet are all currently running.
The new snow and forecast of clearing skies for the weekend means that conditions will be as good as they have been all season for the final weekend of Ski/Skate Week.
