The Year of the Monkey will be welcomed into the Silver Legacy Resort Casino in an extravagant way. From Feb. 12 through Feb. 20, the resort casino will transform into a colorful celebration of the Chinese New Year with elaborate décor, live entertainment including a Lion Dance, and Asian cuisine specials throughout the property.

Beginning Feb. 13, the internationally acclaimed Leung’s White Crane Dance Association will perform a traditional Lion Dance that has become customary during Chinese cultural festivals. The extravagant dance will take place throughout the casino floor accompanied by music on the following dates and times:

  • Feb. 13 - 1 p.m., 4 p.m., 7 p.m., 10 p.m.
  • Feb. 14 - 12 p.m., 3 p.m., 6 p.m., 9 p.m.
  • Feb. 15 - 11 a.m.  

Other live entertainment for the Chinese New Year includes Singaporean singer, songwriter and actor JJ Lin performing at the Reno Events Center on Feb. 14 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $62.39 and can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com or by calling 775-325-7401.

True to its name, Flavors! the Buffet will offer a variety of Asian tastes Feb. 11-14 and 19-20. Enjoy classics like Kung Pao chicken, egg rolls and pot stickers, or enjoy new creations from our chefs like coconut black pepper glazed potatoes, firecracker shrimp with fresh mint rice noodles, Chinese style spareribs with Korean BBQ sauce, pineapple coconut curry clams and whole fried tilapia glazed with Thai chili sauce. All of these great additions accompany Silver Legacy’s famous Whole Roasted Suckling Pig. Adults are $27.99 and children ages four to ten are $14.99.
