With the snow flying, people are starting to think about holiday shopping.
The annual Crafts for Christmas makes its return to the Nugget Casino Resort during Thanksgiving weekend, Nov. 27- 29. The craft fair runs from noon to 6 p.m. Nov. 27, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 28 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 29 at the Nugget Ballroom on the second floor of the Nugget.
“It’s a great alternative to Black Friday shopping,” said Carlton Geer, president and C.E.O. of the Nugget Casino Resort. “At Crafts for Christmas, you can skip the lines and get some great holiday gifts at affordable prices.”
The holiday gift marketplace is free, and you can expect to see more than 100 craft and gift booths. There will be holiday food and drink demonstrations, along with floral arrangement-making exhibitions. The Great Basin Carolers and local youth bands and dance groups will perform all weekend. Free activities for children include: visits with Santa from noon to 3 p.m. each day, reading of “The Polar Express” and a Santa’s workshop area where kids can create holiday artwork.
The Nugget has also added a gift-wrapping station where volunteers will wrap gifts for a small donation to a community group.
While a number of crafters and artists have already signed up for the event, the Nugget still is seeking participants. Anyone interested in participating with a craft booth during this event can contact Jason Williams at firstname.lastname@example.org or 775-324-6435.
Parking and admission are free. Details: NuggetCasinoResort.com.
