Whitney Peak Hotel is a partner for the inaugural Off Beat Arts & Music Festival. This new citywide event will take place Nov. 5-8, and it will showcase Northern Nevada’s music, art and culinary scenes.

The festival features more than 90 bands, disc jockeys and singer-songwriters at 13 venues around town. In addition to serving as the festival headquarters, Whitney Peak will host several shows in Cargo concert hall. Among those scheduled to appear at Cargo are Diego’s Umbrella, Houndmouth and Con Brio.

The organizers have collaborated with local businesses, arts and culinary people. Attendees can check out art shows, take walking tours of Reno neighborhoods and enjoy shopping and dining opportunities. Proceeds will fund art and music classes through the local nonprofit program Upbeat Reno.

“Whitney Peak and Cargo have proven they are on the cutting edge of changing the landscape for hospitality and music in Reno,” Off Beat co-organizer Flip Wright said. “They are consistently bringing new and exciting music to our area, and it made perfect sense for Cargo to showcase such a great line-up of musicians.”

Cargo’s concert lineup includes Moondog Matinee, Soft White Sixties and Saddle Tramps on Nov. 5; Diego’s Umbrella, El Radio Fantastique and Junk Parlor on Nov. 6; 25th Anniversary Celebration of 100.1 FM The X with Houndmouth on Nov. 7; and Drinking with Clowns, Mojo Green and Con Brio on Nov. 8.

Tickets are on sale for all of the festival’s shows at www.OffBeatFest.com. The Cargo shows are sold separately at www.cargoreno.com, but they will be discounted $5 with purchase of a festival wristband. To redeem their discount, wristband holders must show their wristband at the Whitney Peak Hotel front desk.
