Cocktails and Canvas at the Atlantis

Italian Weekend at the Eldorado
Visit Italy with Vintage Eldorado on Oct. 8 and the Eldorado Great Italian Festival on Oct. 10-11 at the Eldorado Resort Casino.  Vintage Eldorado will offer a wine and food pairing menu, featuring wines from Ferrari-Carano Vineyard. There will be a four-course dinner, wines, Italian beers and other spirits. Dinner is set for 5:30 p.m.; tickets are $65 in advance and $75 at the door. Continue the Italian food fest with the Eldorado Great Italian Festival, which brings the sights, sounds and smells of Italy to downtown Reno. There will be pasta tasting, gelato eating contests, music and a grape stomping competition. This can’t-miss event will be fun for the kids and adults alike.

Mana at Grand Sierra Resort
Legendary Latin rockers Mana will take the stage Oct. 10 at Grand Sierra Resort and Casino. Mana has spent the last three decades making music and building a  following throughout America and around the world. If you love Latin rock, you won’t want to miss this concert. Show time is 8 p.m. Tickets range from $91.74 to $229.36, and they are available at the casino box office or online through Ticketmaster.

Free Tunes at Vinyl at Hard Rock
Vinyl at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe in South Lake Tahoe offers up free live music throughout the week and on the weekends. On Oct. 9, Northern Nevada disc jockey Max Volume takes the stage, performing on guitar. Show time is 9:30 p.m., and there is no cover. On Oct. 10, see BACKNBLACK, an AC/DC tribute band hailing from San Francisco. The band performs songs spanning AC/DC’s career. Show time is 9:30 p.m., and tickets are $10 or free with a Backstage Pass.

Meet the Artist at Nevada Art: Phyllis Shafer
View “Tahoe: A Visual History” at the Nevada Museum of Art, and meet one of the artists on Oct. 9. The program will feature Lake Tahoe resident Phyllis Shafer talking about how the area influences her plein air paintings. The talk begins at noon. It costs $10 and is free for museum members.

Reno Band Jelly Bread at the Nugget
Reno blues band Jelly Bread will host a CD release party Oct. 9. at the Nugget Casino Resort  Its Americana/blues blend will have you dancing in the aisles. The party is for the album “Here, There, and Everywhere.” Show time is 8 p.m. and tickets are $15.

Free Music at the Terrace
Joshua Cook and the Key of Now will play Oct. 8-10 at the Terrace at the Peppermill Resort Casino Spa.  These blues rockers perform attitude-drenched vocals and guitar-driven riffs. There is no cover.
