Celebrate Lake Tahoe at the Electric Wagon Train, a themed costume party to celebrate the exhibition "Tahoe: A Visual History." The party will run from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Nevada Museum of Art, 160 W. Liberty St. It will feature entertainment by Mighty Dave, Damien/Smudge and Materialized.

Electric Wagon Train is manifest destiny with a digital twist -- a wilder, more whimsical West where the pioneering spirit is taken to fantastical new extremes. Equal parts Steampunk ball and surreal saloon, this imaginative evening will feature a carnival and live performance by San Francisco's Le Cancan Bijoux. Dress in costume of appropriate flair and help us reinvent history. Indulge in desserts and savory treats.

The only accredited art museum in the state, Nevada Museum of Art is a private, nonprofit organization supported by the generosity of its membership as well as by sponsorships and grants. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday, late on Thursdays until 8 p.m., and is closed on Mondays, Tuesdays and national holidays.
Tickets cost $40 for members and $50 for nonmembers. Details: http://bit.ly/ElectricWagonParty.
