Blues rock band the Boxmasters will perform Sept. 16 at the Whitney Peak Hotel's Cargo Concert Hall. Academy Award-winning actor Billy Bob “Bud” Thornton, Teddy Andreadis, J.D. Andrew and Brad Davis are the current members of the band.

The band released its self-titled debut record, "The Boxmasters,"in 2007. It includes original songs such as the Americana Radio hit, "The Poor House," along with eclectic renditions of music by the Beatles, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Mott the Hoople and Mel Tillis.

After touring the country in 2008, the Boxmasters released a Christmas album titled "Christmas Cheer." In April 2009, the band released a third album "Modbilly," which is a term that the band coined as a type of music that is influenced by ’60s British mod music and by Southern American pop and country music. "Modbilly" topped the Americana charts for two weeks and ranked No. 14 on the 2009 Americana Music Association’s top 100 albums of the year.

The Boxmasters' newest album, "Somewhere Down the Road," was released April 7.
