Canfest

Aug. 27

Canfest organizers have this goal: To give canned beer the spotlight it deserves. Aficionados gather to crush anti-aluminum notions as they pop the tops on more than 100 different brews from around the world.

32nd Autumn Food & Wine Festival

As vibrant autumn colors emerge and temperatures begin to fall, the 32nd Autumn Food & Wine Festival offers true solstitial comfort with farm-to-table dinners, celebrated chefs, hands-on cooking demonstrations, food and beverage pairings, tasting hikes, seminars and the Grand Tasting finale.

An Evening with Johnathan L. Wright

Johnathan L. Wright, RGJ Media’s food and drink editor, is emcee for a lavish dinner at Atlantis Steakhouse featuring prized wines from Lewis Cellars, a highly regarded Napa Valley winery. In 2016, the Wine Spectator named a Lewis Cellars cabernet sauvignon as the No. 1 wine of the year.

Reno Bites Week

The sixth annual Reno Bites week is a culinary celebration that takes place at dozens of restaurants and other venues citywide. The week features special dishes, prix fixe menus, signature events and, as a finale, the Chef Showdown, a "Top Chef"-like cook-off before an enthusiastic crowd.

Barrels & Bites

Barrels & Bites, presented by Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows, is one of Northern Nevada’s grandest events for food and drink connoisseurs.

In addition to more than 500 wines from around the world, attendees sample craft beers, spirits, specialty cocktails and fine food within creatively themed tasting areas.

Fantasies in Chocolate brings together the region’s best chefs to offer cocoa-infused bites — both sweet and savory — that are served alongside wine, beer and spirits. Fantasies also showcases a VIP dinner, live music and luxury goods vendors.

The gala black-tie evening helps support RGJ Foundation scholarships and grants for local individuals, schools and nonprofit groups.
