For the 13th year, the RTC is offering free rides on its transit services to provide safe transportation for people celebrating St. Patrick's Day.

The Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County is committed to the public’s safety and is a partner in the Zero Fatalities program. The RTC is encouraging everyone to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day responsibly and never drive impaired.

All regularly scheduled transit services will be free on St. Patrick’s Day, Tuesday, March 17 from 4 pm to midnight.

Additionally, the downtown circulator bus, the RTC Sierra Spirit, will have extended hours and operate until midnight.

“This is a great way for people to be safe and responsible, but it’s also an opportunity for people who may not have ridden the bus before to try it out for the first time,” RTC Executive Director Lee Gibson said.

To plan a trip, go here and use the Google Transit feature on the homepage.

The free service is made possible through the support of these partners: Northern Nevada DUI Task Force, CH2M, HDR, NCE, Traffic Works, Kimley-Horn, DJ Benardis Memorial Fund, KOLO 8 and the Cumulus Radio Group.
