Mother nature has already teased Tahoe with snow this season. Now, we have to impatiently wait for the resorts to catch up. Weather permitting, here are opening dates for resorts in both Nevada and California. Let it snow!

Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows 

Opening day: Between Nov. 11 and 18

Following the region’s first snow fall, the resort will bump up opening day from Nov. 23 to fall within the window of Nov. 11 and 18, weather and conditions permitting. Following the earliest opening in over a decade in the 2015-16 season largely thanks to early season snowmaking efforts. Once the snowmaking system is fired up for the 2016-17 season, the snowmaking team at Squaw Valley will operate around the clock to prepare to open between Nov. 11 and 18.

The 2016-17 Tahoe Super Pass is currently on sale starting at $469. The Tahoe Super 4 Pack is also available offering four days for just $83 per day.

Best of Tahoe Resorts

Opening day: Nov. 18

Northstar,Heavenly and Kirkwood make up the Best of Tahoe Resorts. Owned by Vail, one Epic Pass allows access to all three mountains. Upgrade to include Vail Resorts in Utah, Colorado and even further east including Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, Park City and more. Get in line early at Kirkwood to share the stoke of opening day and receive swag giveaways. Diamond Peak

Opening day: Projected for Dec. 15

Diamond Peak in Incline Village is projected to open on Dec. 15 for the 2016-17 season, marking 50 years of skiing and snowboarding. The 50th Anniversary Kickoff Party will happen on opening day. Mt. Rose

Opening day: Oct. 31

Winter comes early at Mt. Rose which sits at a base elevation of 8,260 feet. Only 25 minutes from Reno, this mountain is convenient for those looking to bag some runs and be home by happy hour. Season passes come loaded with perks, so get the maximum mountain experience here.

Boreal Mountain Resort

Opening day: TBD

Boreal Mountain Resort in Soda Springs, Calif. near Truckee has not announced dates for their 2016-17 season, but they have already seen snow; so things are looking good. Boreal has a season pass for everyone including night passes and bunker passes to the indoor playground loaded with trampolines, skateparks, tumbling floors, pump tracks, foam pits and more. Sugar Bowl Resort

Opening day: TBD

Sugar Bowl Resort has not announced dates for their 2016-17 season, but passes, perks and upgrades are now available. For even bigger bonuses, join their team and and get housing, dining and food discounts in addition to an unrestricted season pass.
