Located a twisty 20-minute drive west of St. Helena, Calif., Pride Mountain Vineyards offers guests stunning views of Mount St. Helena to the northeast and vineyards rising skyward in all directions. A 235-acre estate with a modest-sized winery, Pride Mountain Vineyards provides visitors a chance to experience wines known for their balance of fruit and acidity achieved through vineyard management and careful production techniques, including aging in 23,000 square feet of caves dug into the mountainside.
Atlantis’ team of chefs has created a menu that complements or contrasts each wine. The menu includes:
Chef’s amuse bouche of chilled summer peach soup with poached Maine lobster, orange blossom honey and mint lavender crème paired with Pride Mountain Vineyards Sonoma County viognier. For the first course, guests will tuck into Cypress Grove “Bermuda Triangle” goat cheese with wild greens salad, roasted pear vinaigrette, toasted hazelnut coulis and bourbon vanilla, paired with Pride Mountain Vineyards Napa Valley chardonnay.
The second course will be cardamom and cracked pepper Muscovy duck breast served with warm cracked wheat and wild mushroom salad, wax beans and spiced plum jus paired with Pride Mountain Vineyards merlot from Napa and Sonoma counties. For the third course, guests will taste wood-grilled venison loin with roast blackberry coulis, baked rosemary polenta cake and wild arugula, paired with Pride Mountain Vineyards Napa Valley cabernet sauvignon.
For the fourth course, try herb-crusted Australian lamb loin and fennel-potato puree, snap peas with mint, roast blueberries and jasmine tea-infused lamb jus paired with the Pride Mountain Vineyards Sonoma County syrah. For dessert, guests will be offered a dark chocolate and peanut butter torte with chocolate gianduja and caramelized bananas.
