After 12 years in San Francisco, the Pinot Noir Summit - a celebration of the country's top Pinot Noir – has moved to Reno, NV. On July 24 and 25 at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, 50 amazing wineries will convene for the 13th Annual Pinot Noir Summit presented by Affairs of the Vine.
The Pinot Noir Summit is the culmination of the annual Pinot Noir Shootout competition, the largest competition of New World Pinot Noirs in the wine industry. The Summit celebrates and recognizes this year's top wines and producers as part of a two day event. With nearly 500 wines entered in the competition, the Summit will feature over 150 top-rated Pinots and other wines produced by this year's showcased wineries.
On Friday, July 24, there will be a special trade session preview event. Wine Trade and select media may attend a workshop, taste the winning entries and other wines from the featured wineries, and blind taste a selection of top-rated Pinots from the 13th Annual Pinot Noir Shootout.
On Saturday, July 25, a full day of events and tastings for wine loving consumers is planned, including:
- Two seminars delving into the heart of soul of this unique varietal
- An All Things Pinot Pairing Luncheon hosted by the winemakers
- The incredibly popular Wine Lovers Blind Tasting
- The evening's Grand Tasting & Awards Gala where wineries will showcase their award-winning Pinot Noirs and other wines they produce. A selection of Pinot-friendly hors d'oeuvres will be served, and Falynne Lewing, a 14-year old self-directed Michael Jackson tribute artist, will perform.
The Pinot Noir Summit can be combined with a luxurious stay at Atlantis Casino Resort Spa. For reservations, call 800.723.6500 and reference 13th Pinot Noir Summit for the special room rate or online using the group code SPINOT.
