Old Reno vs. new Reno ... which one would you choose?
Reno 360°: A blog for those who love Reno and aren't afraid to admit it

This town .. what is it about this town? It's gritty, sassy, chic (sort of) and edgy. I don't know another city that has such a split personality as my hometown. Or is it just the people who have split personalities?

Pizza Pizza: Why spend a fortune when a finski will do?
Food Bites: A blog about Reno’s dining and restaurant scene

Why are Round Table, Godfather’s, and Pizza Hut still around when you can get a large, $5 pizza at Little Caesar’s? I mean, the pizza at Little Caesar’s is just as delicious, if not better as the pizza at any of those other chains, so…what exactly...

Hot Dog! Head on down to Wienerschnitzel
Food Bites: A blog about Reno’s dining and restaurant scene

When's the last time anyone had a fast food hot dog? Not very often, otherwise you'd see more than just Wienerschnitzel and A&W serving them. Why people have issues against random meats in a casing is not a mystery to me.

Food Bites: A blog about Reno’s dining and restaurant scene

Bear's Pizza: Bring your Grizzly-sized appetite
Food Bites: A blog about Reno’s dining and restaurant scene

Tale of the one-armed bandit or how I became too stupid for slots
Reno 360°: A blog for those who love Reno and aren't afraid to admit it

Food Bites: A blog about Reno’s dining and restaurant scene

Thai Lotus: Fit for The King of Siam, great prices, 'Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera'
Food Bites: A blog about Reno’s dining and restaurant scene

Whenever I’m in the mood for some Thai food with an informal atmosphere, I go to Thai Lotus. The interior is plain, and the food, although tasty, is quite basic. Well, I revisited this place a couple of weeks ago, and noticed they changed the décor.

BBQ House offers plenty of seating and big portions
Food Bites: A blog about Reno’s dining and restaurant scene

"BBQ House" is definitely new - there's a fresh coat of paint on everything, including the red benches outside. That said, this is definitely a "blue collar" establishment, which would've been guaranteed by its location alone. Parking is iffy.

Food Bites: A blog about Reno’s dining and restaurant scene

King Buffet is one of those places that you'll either love or hate, depending how adventurous you feel and how much you enjoy "authentic" food.

Siamese Hut: Thai joint doesn't skimp on shrimp and something for the sweet tooth
Food Bites: A blog about Reno’s dining and restaurant scene

Siamese Hut is a great place to get Thai food, although, their Tom Ka Gai tastes much…different than the Tom Ka Gai that most Thai places serve in Reno. It’s as though they’ve added a splash of Chanel No. 5 to the mix, or something.

No news is not good news
Reno 360°: A blog for those who love Reno and aren't afraid to admit it

Oceano at the Peppermill: Meal leaves diners all wet
Tide turns, Sushi roll sinks and wallet washed out

Well, what is there to say about Oceano inside the Peppermill? It’s a seafood restaurant…as if the name didn’t indicate as much. I’d have to say that the best thing about this place is the way it looks inside.
