The 2008 Legends Reno-Tahoe Open, an official PGA Tour event, is the region’s only professional level sporting event. This national caliber tournament, now in its 10th year, features a field of 132 PGA Tour professionals competing for a $3 million purse. The tournament is part of the FedExCup schedule, a competition series for PGA Tour professionals where points are accumulated throughout the series to determine seeding for the FedExCup playoffs.

Location and Course: Montrêux Golf and Country Club in Reno, Nev.

The Players: Over the years, the Legends Reno-Tahoe Open has seen some of the biggest players on the Tour. The tournament has had nearly 40 players who have won major championships and many Ryder Cup and President’s Cup players including:

Event Format: Four-day, 72-hole stroke-play competition; cut after 36 holes to low 70 and ties.
