The world renowned Missoula Children’s Theater, brought to Reno as part of the annual Artown festival, hosts auditions July 21 at 2 p.m. for the Artown presentation of “The Little Mermaid.” The Theater opens its doors to children ages 6 – 18 to audition at the First United Methodist Church at 209 W. First St. in downtown Reno. With a mission to develop life skills in children through participation in performing arts, the MCT has visited Reno and Artown in years past giving the opportunity of a lifetime to young Reno area thespians with dreams of performing on stage. Over the course of a week the children cast in the play will rehearse scenes, then take the stage July 26 for the public performance at the University of Nevada, Reno’s Nightingale Hall.
