History of Truchard Vineyards
Truchard Vineyards was founded in 1974, when Tony and Jo Ann Truchard purchased a 20 acre parcel of land in the Carneros region of Napa Valley. They transformed what was an abandoned prune orchard into a vineyard. Over the past 30 years, the Truchard Estate Vineyard has grown to 400 acres and sells grapes to more than 20 premiere Napa Valley wineries.
In 1989, the Truchards began making wine using their own estate-grown fruit. An old barn was converted into a winery and is now the symbol that adorns the top of the Truchard wine label. With the addition of a 10,500 wine cave, the winery is one of the most beautiful in Napa Valley.
Truchard wines are produced with the vineyard in mind. The Truchards consider themselves a big vineyard and a small winery.
