Washoe Valley Mansion site and Davis Creek Campground come to life

Spend a fun family weekend in the pines, between Reno and Carson City, Nevada, at the 2008 Bowers Mansion Bluegrass Festival. The popular Nevada bluegrass festival, in its 23rd year, is sponsored by the Northern Nevada Bluegrass Association (NNBA) and offers offers a great value in arts and entertainment.

Bands perform some of the finest Americana music around including hard driving blue grass, sweet gospel harmonies, and "old time" music. Camping and festivities in the tall pines at nearby Davis Creek Campground will round out this weekend!

New this year! We are spilling over into Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday morning with other great activities. Here's the schedule of events in a nutshell:

Friday Night
Aug. 15, Bluegrass Show featuring local talent, Davis Creek Amphitheater, 7-10 p.m. - Free!

Saturday
Aug. 16, The 23rd Annual Bower's Mansion Bluegrass Festival on the grounds of the historic Bower's Mansion Regional Park!

Saturday Night
Aug. 16, Contra Dance at the "Loop" at Davis Creek Campground, 8-10 p.m. - Free!

Aug. 16, begins 10 p.m. - Jam around the campfire at the group camping area, Davis Creek Campground - Free!

Sunday Morning
Aug. 17, Gospel Show at the Davis Creek Campground Ampitheater, 10 a.m. - Free.

As always, and included in the price of admission, Saturday's activities will include music workshops, many of them taught by the performers. This is a great opportunity to bring your instrument and learn directly from the professionals.

The festival will also have a variety of vendors offering food, arts and crafts. So get out your calendar, and put the Bowers Mansion Bluegrass Festival under "fun things to do", then join us Aug. 15-17 and enjoy a weekend in the country with exciting live music, dancing, jamming and fun!

Bower's Mansion Regional Park and Davis Creek Campground are located in Washoe Valley, NV, just off HWY 395 and conveniently located just a short drive from Reno, Carson City, Minden, Gardnerville, Virginia City, and Lake Tahoe. Directions

Volunteer needed!
The Bower's Mansion Bluegrass Festival is organized and presented by an all-volunteer staff. We need volunteers the weekend of the festival to help set-up, tear-down, and staff the booths.

Volunteers get great benefits: free admission to the festival and a cool t-shirt.
