The very funny and very Irish Maureen McVerry brings her show “Verry McVerry” to the Peppermill Resort Casino’s Tahoe Ballroom 8 p.m. May 17.

McVerry has been described as “a red menace” and a “Soprano who can belt.” Her show salutes love, obsession, and explores McVerry’s favorite topics including New York baseball, dental romance, and good-time girls.

McVerry grew up in southern California and has wanted to be an actress for as long as she can remember. Her on-stage performances include Noises Off, Pygmalion, Dinner at 8, and Three Penny Opera. McVerry’s film credits are The Dead Pool, Big Business, True Believer, and Crackers.Her television credits include an appearance on Full House.
