On July 12 the 12th annual Pops on the River promises to be the hottest event of the summer. Bring a picnic dinner, some friends and enjoy the best show of the season at Wingfield Park next to the Truckee River in downtown Reno. The scene couldn’t be more ideal.

Pops is known as the most colorful, lively event of the summer season. The largest fund-raiser for the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra--last year raising $70,000--features tables creatively decorated and guests dressing in a vast array of spectacular costumes. Pops is a unique combination of Mardi Gras, a gourmet picnic and a wonderful concert under the stars.

$10 for adults
$5 for seniors and children

Hosted by the Philharmonic Guild, an organization dedicated to the Orchestra and its diverse areas of service, this year's Pops on the River will not only include the acclaimed Reno Philharmonic Orchestra, but will also feature Guest Director Timm Rolek and Debbie Gravitte, guest artist.

About Timm Rolek
Rolek will most certainly carry on the tradition of leading an outstanding orchestra, while adding his own twist, and take Pops on the River to the next level. The 2007-08 marks Timm Rolek's tenth season as Artistic Director of the Sacramento Opera where he will lead productions of Othello, Turn of the Screw, and Tosca<'/i>, and fourth as Artistic Director and Conductor of the prestigious Lake Tahoe Music Festival.

About Debbie Gravitte
Gravitte successful career has taken her from the Broadway Stage to the Symphony Hall and all points in between. She won the prestigious Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for Jerome Robbin's Broadway, along with a Drama Desk Award Nomination and New York Showstopper Award.

How to sponsor
Sponsorships are available if you would like to further support the Reno Philharmonic and spotlight your company. They range in price from $850 - $5,000 and are an excellent way to highlight your business while giving back. A limited number of regular tables of 10 are available at $350 each.

Gates open for table decorating at 5 p.m.
