Helpful Tips for Spectators
Organizers of The Great Reno Balloon Race have put together some helpful tips for spectators of the event’s 27th year of high-flying fun, Sept. 5-7 at Rancho San Rafael Park. Tips include important information on how to get to and from the event, where to park, what to wear, things to do and what not to do…

• Parking at the event is extremely limited and traffic can get congested. Anyone wishing to park at the site should plan on arriving early. Please see the attached map for further details. Free parking is available at the University, in the lots north of Lawlor Events Center. Parking is also available at N. Sierra St. & McCarran Blvd. for a donation to the Reno South Rotary Club children’s charities. Autos, RVs and trailers are prohibited to park on McCarran Blvd. and will be towed.

• Transportation to and from the Balloon Race is provided by Citifare, which will offer direct, nonstop service to the entrance of the park .Use Citifare’s Park & Ride Program with pickup points at Meadowood Mall, Reed High School and downtown Reno’s Citicenter. • Dress in layers as September mornings can be quite chilly before dawn, but once the sun comes up the mercury rises quickly.

• Please leave pets at home. Thousands of people and unpredictable sounds leave animals confused and anxious.

• Do not smoke on the launch field…propane, sparks and dry grass do not mix.
