Two new events June 29 and Sept. 21

The Big Blue Adventure Series, which introduced adventure racing to North Lake Tahoe in 2002, challenges trail runners on some of the area’s most spectacular trails with two new events June 29 and September 21.

The Burton Creek Trail Run - June 29
Ten and 20-mile courses take runners over a series of single-track trails through Burton Creek State Park outside Tahoe City. The trails meander through pine forests and high sierra meadows, showcasing a vibrant display of wildflowers. Racers can register through June 28.

Emerald Bay Trail Run - Sept. 21
Runners race through the breathtakingly scenic Emerald Bay, via Emerald Bay and D.L. Bliss State Parks on Lake Tahoe’s West Shore. The 7.5-mile run starts at Eagle Point, heads around Emerald Bay and up the Rubicon Trail. The deadline to register is September 20.
