Fleischmann Planetarium launches new monthly Planet-X
Event for Friends of the Planetarium launches Feb. 21

Fleischmann Planetarium and Science Center at the University of Nevada, Reno launches its first monthly Planet-X Friends of the Planetarium Night, Thursday, Feb. 21, 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Planetarium on the University campus.
Events
This first in a series of monthly events held at the Planetarium will include:
Musical entertainment from KTHX-FM 100.1 DJ Tracy “Too Dread” Moore
Prize drawings,
Light shows featuring new, unreleased music from KTHX artists
Classic black-and-white sci-fi films,
Space-related kids’ crafts projects
A surprise appearance from 6-foot celebrity robot Hotshot Few Thousand.
Open to all ages, the event is free for Friends of the Planetarium members or $5 for nonmembers. Tickets will be available at the door.
About the Planetarium
Fleischmann is one of a few planetariums in the world that uses the Spitz SciDome digital projector, a high-resolution, state-of-the-art immersive visualization tool that produces extraordinarily bright and colorful 3-D images.
Food and prizes
Red’s Little Waldorf will supply food, and beverages from Great Basin Brewing Company and Sierra Wine & Spirits will be available at the event for a small additional fee.
A free grand-prize drawing will be held for a 90-millimeter Orion® refractor telescope, t-shirts, books, "Starry Night" software and more.

Parking
Free parking is available in the West Stadium Parking Complex, level 3, just east of the Planetarium.
