Street Vibrations 2008: Revved-up and Ready to Roll
Reno to host biker festival Sept. 24 - 28
December 10, 2007
The fourteenth year of Reno’s biker festival known as Street Vibrations promises to be a good one. With plenty of new events coupled with the hell-raising activities as well-worn and comfortable as a pair of good boots – 2008 will proved to be a great year to be in Reno on two-wheels.
Ride into Reno Sept. 24-28 to experience The Biggest Little City’s salute to the V-twin with all things motorcycle. Vendors from around the country will meet in Reno to show off the best things for your ride and your lifestyle. See the newest bike models and best in custom-bike building. Check out the bands and visit the local bars, casinos and restaurants. Enjoy rides around the Truckee Meadows and meet your fellow bikers.
According to organizers, Street Vibrations 2008 will feature “motorcycle give-aways, a championship boxing tournament, an all-female roller derby bout called Rink Rash Rally, ride-in shows, live entertainment, great food vendors, a tattoo expo, America’s Finest Custom Bike Builder’s Invitational, two different stunt show teams, Dyno Drags, and more.”
Don’t miss a minute of the good times.
Making a return are old favorites: The Dyno Drags, The Harley-Davidson Factory truck with 25 squeaky clean demo models; The Ladies Only Ride-in Show and the All-Harley Ride-in have been brought back for another year due to popularity, and riders can expect the poker walks and runs to make a return. VIPs will be treated to a sight-seeing ride to Lake Tahoe.
Carson City Harley-Davidson
Carson City Harley-Davidson will feature two stunt-riding teams, Ill-Conduct and LivFast, Sept. 24 – 25 and bands, Steel Breeze, Donnie and the WayRads beginning Sept. 24, and “fireworks will cap the events at Carson City Harley-Davidson.”
Special grown-up fun in Reno includes a Tattoo Convention at the Reno Events Center and Wet-T-shirt Contests at the Sands.
Reno After Dark promoter Joey Gilbert will be featured in a fight vs. Charlie Howe Friday, Sept. 25 in the Grant Theatre at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino.
This year, History-laden Virginia City joins the Street Vibrations destinations with a reeling ride up Geiger Grade road. Turn back the clock and visit local vendors and let the horse-riding cowboys of yesteryear get a taste of some real horsepower.
