Holiday shopping, California Avenue style
Merchants host holiday stroll with carolers, buggy rides and more
The fourth annual CalAve Holiday Stroll will take place on Dec. 13 from 5-9 p.m. If you've never taken part in this fun, funky event, this is the year to do it.
California Avenue has grown up from its days as an office lined street, barely supporting a few eating places. Today it's one of the city's most sought-after neighborhoods, complete with trendy boutiques, family-friendly eateries, chic bars are more. Each year, the merchant's association hosts the Holiday Stroll, which gives folks the opportunity to do a little shopping, enjoy the lights and decorations and maybe even take a carriage ride.
Shop late, imbibe in a bone-warming hot buttered rum, listen to carolers and take the kids for a free horse and buggy ride. For a list of all the merchants in the area, check out this link.
