Ballet joins Masterworks Chorale, Nevada Opera and Reno Phil in WCCA

The Pioneer Center is pleased to announce a new company has joined the ranks of the other fine resident companies already calling the Pioneer home. AVA Ballet was voted in as a resident company by the Board last month, joining Masterworks Chorale, Nevada Opera, Reno Philharmonic, and Washoe County Concert Association.

In September 2007 A.V.A. Ballet Theatre applied to become a resident company at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts. After review and discussion the board of directors of the Pioneer Center voted to accept A.V.A. Ballet Theatre as the resident ballet company at the historic downtown facility.

A.V.A. Ballet Theatre is the largest ballet company in Northern Nevada and under the leadership of artistic director Alexander Van Alstyne has produced high quality ballets that have attracted record crowds.

Additionally, A.V.A. Ballet Theatre brings in professional ballet dancers from companies around the world as well as featuring local talent and performances with the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra.
