Scoop shop opens in Sparks Galleria in Spanish Springs
September 7, 2007
Boasting flavors such as Tahoe Tessy Mudpie Messy showing a visual of the legendary and allusive Tahoe Tessy, Tahoe Creamery is starting an ice cream revolution. Choosing northern Nevada as its home location, over the last two years Tahoe Creamery was a delicacy found only in local coffee shops and restaurants throughout the Reno-Tahoe region. Now with the opening of its first scoop shop in Spanish Springs in the Sparks Galleria near Home Depot, the homemade, locally produced flavorings are now available to everyone looking for a tasty treat.
Tahoe Creamery’s mission is to sell only freshly made, gourmet, premium ice creams, sherbets and sorbets while always keeping the produce pure. True to its Lake Tahoe namesake, the scoop shop captures the essence of a relaxed Tahoe-style environment including a motif featuring wood, river rock and a fireplace.
Ice cream and products are made fresh from scratch at a production facility in northern Nevada, and Tahoe Creamery can expedite delivery from plant to scoop in under two weeks, or even days, providing customers with fresh ice cream every time. The average production-to-purchase timeline for ice cream pints in stores is six months or more, allowing for the freshest product available at all times.
Tahoe Creamery’s special recipes feature anything but traditional ingredients and toppings. Creative flavors and fresh homemade products are made from all real ingredients with nothing artificially added.
With 154 recipes, each flavor is made in small batches to ensure the highest standards. Tahoe Creamery currently supplies numerous northern Nevada locations with premium ice creams, sherbets and sorbets. One of Hoch’s partners, Andy Black, was the founder and operator of the Sparky’s Sports Bar and Grill chain in northern Nevada. Together they hope to expand Tahoe Creamery’s presence in the area and develop a model for future regional operations.
Tahoe Creamery at Sparks Galleria is open weekdays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends and can be reached by calling (775)354-2237.
