Carrows: Beats the competition and what is in that special sauce?

Food Bites: A blog about Reno’s dining and restaurant scene

I am one huge fan of Carrows! Whether it be the Carrows on Wells or the Carrows on Plumb, I’m there. After all, there really isn’t a difference between their two locations. They look the same, feel the same, and taste the same.

Carrows is basically a less-hyped version of Denny’s. They have all your typical Denny’s-esque foods, including sandwiches, breakfast items, salads, and burgers. Not to mention one of the best cheeseburgers in Reno. There’s some sort of “special sauce” on the burger that’s to die for. Normally the term “special sauce” is, in my head, a way of saying, “creepy sauce that we don’t want you to know about,” but not in this case. It tastes a bit like Thousand Island, and goes absolutely perfect underneath a slice of American cheese.

Carrows is definitely better than Denny’s. The food arrives at your table quicker, the environment is more pleasant, and the wait staff is much nicer and tends to stick around longer. I see the same waiter at Carrows every time I go, which is definitely a positive sign. Give it a try!
